Have you ever gone to an organization's event and were too shy to talk to any representatives? Now you have an opportunity to improve your networking skills. WLUHRN, along with the aid of Jeff Desbiens, CHRP who is a manager at the Economical Insurance Group will be coming to speak at Laurier
Jeff will be talking about his own networking experiences, tips on how to initiate networking, as well as the importance of putting your best foot forward.
Come to the presentation and the next time you attend a networking event, you'll be able to wow the organizations' representatives with your charm, wit and confidence.

WLUHRN will be holding an information session on Wednesday, March 10th about HR Professions that YOU could pursue.
Michael Snyders, Senior Partner at Future Focus Inc. (a leading firm in Strategic Human Resource Management solutions and services), will be talking to our student body about the Human Capital Strategy side of HR – talent development, recruitment, performance development, and succession planning, which is the direction HR is taking in the industry. He will also be talking about the consulting discipline (HR focus) as a potential career avenue along with the rewards and challenges to be aware of in this industry.
FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED!!! You don't have to be a member of WLUHRN so come out, get food, and possibly find your career of choice.

SBESS BUNCH event

SBESS BUNCH will be having Chris Jones, who manages the student recruitment program for Sun Life Financial Canada come and talk about his career path. He has worked internationally, but has spent the past 5 years in campus recruitment in Canada.
He will be giving tips on effective networking and how to search for jobs as well as providing information about the HR world. He will also be talking about recruitment for Sun Life for the summer term and full-time positions. So if you’re interested, come out for an hour and hear what he has to say!
Chris will be an amazing opportunity for you guys to gain knowledge into the HR industry and see if it’s right for you and there will also be free food at the end!
